Connie Chiume, who plays Mamokete Khuse in Rhythm City, will be leaving the soapie in April. Rhythm City viewers will see her for the last time on Wednesday, 20 April.
She has been with the show since its inception on 09 July 2007. Her character, a strong maternal figure, is loved by many viewers and her fellow cast members. Viewers can expect dramatic and thrilling final scenes from this veteran actress.
Connie will still be focusing on her love for acting, and her long time passion for farming. “This departure will allow me to pick up on things that were left undone. I am grateful for the time and experience with Rhythm City and e.tv. I believe I was born to be an actress, it’s in my blood. Parting is such sweet sorrow, and I will miss my Rhythm City family.” Says Connie Chiume“We are very sad to say goodbye to Connie who has been one of the show’s cornerstone characters. The brilliance and talent she brought to the soapie, in her role as Mamokete, has been an inspiration to many. We will miss her on the Rhythm City set and on our screens. e.tv, Rhythm City producers, cast and crew wish her all the best with her future endeavours.” – Yula Quinn, Rhythm City Series Producer.
