The First Unknown Space Market will be held at the Gugulethu Sports Complex, on Saturday, 26 November. The Unknown Space is a township market celebrating local talent and diversity.

Founder Ntando Bushwana says “The Unknown Space is a collective for creatives to showcase and present their brands to people who are just like them
. A trendy space for people to walk and journey through a juxtaposition of varied creative industries which includes design, fashion, food & art.”

Being the first of its kind in Gugulethu township, visitors will have the opportunity to experience limited production and focused on community empowerment and supporting local entrepreneurs. Celebrate culture and craftsmanship with locals, who will be showcasing and selling their best work at the market. Incorporating a spectrum of local young creatives and craftsman’s to popular food trucks and dj’s

Bushwana started the venture with the idea of empowering local entrepreneurs and to bring a different experience to the community of Gugulethu.

Among the creatives that will be showcasing will be missAnke, missAnke is a hand-made accessory brand, which is located in Cape Town. It was founded by Frankie Herwels. The accessory catalogue includes studs, earrings, necklace, bracelets, over-wear etc. Zips are the missAnke brand’s signature and the collections feature various zip based designs.LZ Designs will also be showcasing her vibrant collection. Liziwe is a young fashion designer from Cape Town LZ design which focuses on street style mix with African print and a bit of traditional, both for male and female.

At this family friendly market, visitor can expect to find gourmet food from some of the best food trucks Cape Town has to offer as well as seasoned market food traders.

All the vendors are creative, passionate and committed and need the opportunity to show off the fruits of their labour
Visitors will enjoy live performances by a live band and dj’s while browsing through the vendor’s displays.

“The Unknown Space headline innovative and original local talent. The market can simply not be missed. There truly will be something for everyone,” Bushwana concludes.

Adults pay R40​ and kids under 12 enter free.
