One of the highlights on the winter entertainment calendar at GrandWest is Bok Radio’s four hour Super Sokkie. This year’s Super Sokkie is confirmed for 13 May 2017 at the Grand Arena. The evening promises hip swaying dancing to music by the biggest names in Afrikaans sokkie music, Kurt Darren and Snotkop, who will be joined by an ensemble of 12 Cape based artists.
They will perform an array of chart topping Afrikaans hits such as “Kaptein”, “Kaalvoet Sokkie”, “Cool Soos Koos Kombuis” and “Hoe Lykit” amongst others. The Grand Arena will be transformed into the country’s biggest sokkie dance floor for the night and concertgoers will be invited to take to the floor to be merged into the Super Sokkie.
“Get winter off to a dancing start with some of South Africa’s sokkie music masters,” says Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest.
DJs from Bok Radio will also be on the decks, entertaining the crowd with a playlist of Afrikaans favourites. Tickets to Super Sokkie are available at Computicket and cost R120 per person. Tickets are limited to ensure ample space on the dance floor and no under 16 year olds are permitted
