Builders and Supersport have done it again – the 8th sports field to be unveiled as part of the ongoing initiative to provide underprivileged schools with multi-purpose facilities that allow students to be more active outdoors!
The new sports field was unveiled at the Fraaisig Primary School, based in Knysna on the 4th August 2017 and is the second school to receive the multi-purpose facilities for 2017.
The objective of the initiative is to encourage learners to be more active in physical education and sports, which would nurture future soccer legends.
The sports field won’t only benefit Fraaisig Primary School, it brings schools and communities together through the hosting of soccer tournaments. “This tournament was introduced as part of the unveiling to allow the schools from in and around the community an opportunity to enjoy the new facilities as well as create an opportunity for the schools to engage with each other, said Andre Steyn, Builders Marketing and Innovations Director.
In addition, schools participating in the tournament will receive physical education training from Active Education coaches who visit each school on a weekly basis introducing both boys and girls to the wonderful world of sports. Active Education holds a partnership agreement with the Department of Basic Education, which allows them access to the schools and the local district office.
