Cape Town, August 2017 — Superheroes of all fashions will swoop in to save the day at Liberty Promenade Shopping Centre at midday on Saturday, 19 August 2017, with one main message for the audience: “Say NO to bullying”!The centre’s annual Generation Green Recycled Fashion Show will see 17 schools going head-to-head in a competitive fashion show featuring unique outfits designed and modelled by learners themselves, with the caveat that they must incorporate recycled materials in their design. The winning schools, which will be announced on the day, will win prizes in excess of R50 000.
The fashion show competition has become a much-loved staple at the shopping centre, and each year includes a social message separate to the annual recycling theme. This year, participants have been asked to create a superhero outfit from recycled materials, and create a poster raising awareness of the social harm that bullying causes in schools.
The event is free to attend and open to the public.
