Senior Citizens at Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre
Following the successful Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival in September this year, T-Musicman is culminating its 2017 journey with its community outreach program aimed at giving senior citizens and caregivers in Gauteng an opportunity to experience the rich offerings of arts and culture, and the beauty of jazz music in the comfort of their own space.
This year, 300 guests from various municipalities will experience the elements of the 2017 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz. The guests will be transported from their municipalities to the Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre in Montclair on 29 November 2017, to experience a day of pampering from the host.
Peter Tladi, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz executive producer, says: “The Jazz Cares initiative is one of the most fulfilling programs in our calendar. Jazz Cares it is more about taking the experience of this beautiful music genre to our loyal audience that is no longer able to attend the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival but would really appreciate being a part of the festivities. We have planned a Christmas in November for our senior citizens, and the day promises to be a buzz with live entertainment, celebrity guests and a vitality session. The vitality session will include exercises and a speaker on the importance of healthy living .”
To date, Jazz Cares has enriched the lives of many South Africans by providing them the opportunity to experience top musical acts in the jazz industry. The initiative brings together various sections of the community with limited accessibility to the arts & culture to enjoy live entertainment and experience the best of jazz our country’s has to offer.
The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, Jazz Cares initiative started in 2010 and has grown immensely over the years.
