Top Afrikaans musicians at this year’s Bakgat Somer Opskop at GrandWest
Afrikaans music fans have lots to look forward to this December, with six of the country’s best artists performing at the Bakgat Somer Opskop taking place at the Grand Arena, GrandWest for the sixth year running.
The award-winning musicians who’ll be putting on four hours of non-stop hits, are Jay du Plessis, Theuns Jordaan, Elvis Blue, Manie Jackson, Leah and the hilarious Wicus van der Merwe, who will also be MC for the evening.
“The Bakgat Somer Opskop is a highlight at GrandWest,” said Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest. “Every year thousands of fans flock to see this fun-loving, thigh-slapping, brilliant show. We are so honoured to host it for the sixth consecutive year,” she said.
“As usual, the exceptional musicians who will be performing need no introduction to Afrikaans music-lovers,” said Matthys. “It is such a treat to have six big stars performing in one show, it makes for an incredible atmosphere. Fans who have not yet experienced the Bakgat Somer Opskop should do themselves a favour and come to this year’s show. It is one of the best Afrikaans music nights of the year,” she said.
This not-to-be-missed show is extremely popular so buy your tickets soon to avoid disappointment.
