Shimmy Isaacs is back with her fifth one-woman special stand-up comedy show, Moenie!! on at Hanover Street, GrandWest on 28 and 29 April 2018.
Fans of local comedy will need no introduction to this acclaimed comedian, who has performed everywhere from her sleepy birth town of Worcester, to the international stages of London, Scotland, New York and Amsterdam.
Shimmy’s new show Moenie!! hilariously compares her life before and after stardom, as she shares some entertaining and less glamorous moments.
“Shimmy is an award winning and highly acclaimed comedian and actress who had a successful career doing live performances, television and film acting,” says Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest. “She puts on an extremely authentic and funny stand-up show. This one promises to be another side-splitting look into her extraordinary life and her family.”
“Although she has done so well in her stand-up career, her performances remain genuine to the world of her own narrative. That is what makes this show and Shimmy’s style of presentation culturally relevant and easy for South Africans, especially Capetonian audiences of all ages and races, to relate to” says Matthys. “Fans of local comedy should not miss Shimmy’s show.”
