Grab your cowboy hat, bring your family and come celebrate the best in local country music on 3 June 2018 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest. Some of South Africa’s favourite country stars, supported by a full nine piece band, will be performing all the country hits you love.
Bakgat Country Opskop promises to be an afternoon of great entertainment with a handpicked line-up of country legends and young, fresh talent. Some big names include Lance James, or Big Daddy as he is affectionately known, a local country legend who will be celebrating his 80th birthday. Barbara Ray is the undisputed queen of country music in South Africa. She has over 22 Gold Records and she has won numerous awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award. Rocking Horse, South Africa’s number one country band for 35 years, will also be performing their greatest hits. Other local favourites are Pierre de Charmoy, Tommy Dell, Ray Dylan, Ricus Nel and Elizma Theron. Fans can also expect to be introduced to the brand new talents of Elandré Schwartz and Brandon Oberholzer.
