Chocolates, cards and flowers are a great way to acknowledge your right hand lady (or man) on Secretaries Day. But for something a little more special to honour the one that is the eyes and ears, and often the glue that holds things together at the office, there’s The Table Bay.
“Allow the unsung heroes of the workplace the chance to escape for the afternoon. They will be welcomed with a beautiful cocktail and treated to a sumptuous lunch or decadent high tea at Cape Town’s Best Address,” says Sarah Prins, PR Manager at The Table Bay.
As most things are made more delightful with gin, guests attending High Tea or the Harvest Table Lunch at The Table Bay on Secretaries Day will receive a complimentary Sparkling Amber Cocktail on arrival. It is an invigorating mix of Inverroche Amber Gin, shaken with Elderflower and lemon juice, and neatly topped up with The Table Bay’s signature MCC to give it a definite sparkle.
The extensive Harvest Table Lunch will be served in the hotel’s Camissa Brasserie. To start, guests have a choice of fresh salads and greens, including rainbow beetroot salad, candied walnuts, blue cheese crumble and roasted sweet potato. Salads are followed by a delicious homemade soups and a selection of beautiful home baked breads. On the hot buffet, guests can expect satisfying dishes such as short rib tagine with whole root vegetables; pan fried line fish with broccoli florets, dukkha crust and buttered cous-cous, and teriyaki chicken with roasted vegetables. There are options for vegetarians, with dishes like butternut gnocchi with sauté mushrooms, crème fraiche and lemon thyme veloute, amongst others. The lunch on Secretaries Day will be served between 12h00 and 14h30. The cost per head is R260, including the Sparkling Amber Cocktail and other surprises, including a business card lucky draw in which vouchers worth R750 will be awarded as prizes.
