Summer is here and 5FM have you covered with their We’ve Got Summer campaign which kicks off this week. The radio station which has been synonymous with some of the best parties in the country return this Summer with various events around South Africa as we get the festive season into gear.
Through several partnered events, you will find 5FM and their popular DJs at events in the major cities. The party season kicks off with Capsule Fest, powered by 5FM onSaturday, 24 November. This year’s event headliner is Californian rapper Vince Staples who will be supported by South African acts that include the likes of A.K.A, Riky Rick, Babes Wodumo, Shane Eagle and DJ Speedsta. The street culture festival promises to deliver elements of urban culture from art to music and street wear enthusiasts. The event kicks off at 2pm and Nicole da Silvawill broadcast her show The Weekend Playdatefrom the event in Zone 6in Soweto from 14:00 – 17:00. The Global Citizen Festival Mandela 100takes place on Sunday, 2 Decemberat FNB Stadium and 5FM are one of the SABC radio stations supporting the event as official media partners. The event has, since 2012, assisted with various Global Goals raising both awareness and funds for interventions ranging from alleviating poverty to education. 5FM have hosted competitions giving away tickets to its listeners including a school initiative where they asked high school students to show off their community work in order to win tickets for their school. 5FM will provide live links from the event, which includes international performers Beyonce, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran, Usher and more.
You will find 5FM’s Rob Forbes and Fix Moeti broadcasting live from Plett Rage, one of the oldest and most popular student festivals. The event is on from 2-8 Decemberand The Forbes and Fix Showwill broadcast from the event on Tuesday, 4 December and Wednesday, 5 December from 12:00 – 15:00. 5FM DJs on the decks during Plett Rage week include Das Kapital, Kyle Cassimand Roger Goode.
There’s guaranteed fun for the whole family at the Goldfish Outdoor Experience, powered by 5FMon Saturday, 15 December at Val Bonne Country Estatein Johannesburg.Event-goers can expect a fun day of live entertainmentby award-winning band Goldfish and other local music acts including 5FM DJs Kyle Cassim, Ms Cosmoand Ryan the DJ. There will be plenty gourmet food stalls and kids entertainment.
