For a creative market experience, don’t miss the V&A Waterfront’s new Silo Market, held on the last Saturday of every month between 10am and 3pm. The market is a new initiative that partners with the Craft and Design Institute, and offers a collection of fresh, local talent and handmade products. The market will be carefully curated to offer a limited number of unique products that are not widely available.
This week’s market will include the following new products:
Your Badge Statement founded by South African designer, Jill Barrington-Roberts. Jill focuses on producing urban shopper bags from recycled and repurposed materials.
Icy Favourites created by Apara Maney is a quirky design company that specialises in and celebrates all things South African.
All Women Recycling by Lynn Worsley. Lynn aim’s to support the environment and empower women. Products such as the kliketyklikbox, a trendy eco-friendly gift box recycled from plastic bottles are created by unemployed women who are trained with the necessary skills in making these boxes.
ShweshweBaby by Tess and Alex Whyatt is a baby accessories company that makes use of Shweshwe materials. All products are 100% cotton and are handmade in colourful patterns and prints.
