The original movie captured the hearts and imaginations of people across the globe and is one of the most memorable animated movies of our time. The new digitally re-mastered Lion King movie promises to be absolutely encompassing. We hope that local movie buffs will join us in our excitement by being part of the Africa-inspired launch of the new Lion King at Nu Metro at The Boardwalk,” says Nqobile Qupe, Marketing Manager at The Boardwalk.
The Lion King (2019) is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of the traditionally animated The Lion King released in 1994. James Earl Jones reprises his original role as Mufasa in the new release of The Lion King, which also features the voices of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani and John Oliver.
As in the original movie, Simba, the son of Mufasa and the Prince of the Pride Lands, hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps. Mufasa’s brother, Scar, plots to betray Mufasa and take over the Pride Lands, forcing Simba into exile, where he meets Timon and Pumbaa. Simba has to make an alliance and rebuild himself fully to take what is rightfully his.
