The Republiek van Zoid Afrika Volume 3 CD and DVD are now available in stores nationwide. The CD can also be downloaded from iTunes from Thursday 24 March.
Every episode of Republiek van Zoid Afrika (kykNET) ends with a performance by Zoid, together with her musical guest. Viewers can download the song from iTunes immediately. The current season (3) has already reached 5 no 1 positions on iTunes, following the 10 no 1 positions for RZA Season 2. Both CD`s (1 and 2) have reached gold status in sales and RZA Vol 2 has been on the SA Top 10 iTunes album list since September 2015. Musical guests with who Zoid has collaborated in the series so far include among others Claire Johnston, Vicky Sampson, Emo Adams, Carika Keuzenkamp, Leslie Javan, Koos Kombuis and Juanita du Plessis. Diff’rent Strokes’ focused on two black kids from Harlem, Arnold Jackson and older brother Willis, who are welcomed into the family of wealthy New York businessman Philip Drummond and his daughter when their mother, his housekeeper, passes away.
Its three young stars – Coleman, Todd Bridges and Dana Plato – soon became wealthy but the real cost of their childhood fame is revealed in Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Diff’rent Strokes which airs on True Movies (DStv Channel 138) on Tuesday, March 29, at 20h45.

Sony Pictures Television Networks announced the launch of a free app to help users capture and post images of a better world. The app supports Picture This, the company’s global campaign to preserve and protect the environment.

e.tv viewers can look forward to another brand new cutting-edge rural drama this April. The Kingdom- uKhakhayi, set around the intriguing AmaBhaca tribe who predominantly reside in uMzimkhulu and the surrounding areas, premieres on Tuesday, 5 April at 9:05PM on e.tv.
The Kingdom – uKhakhayi is a rural drama series based on a royal AmaBhaca tribe that was led by Chief Zwelakhe, who is now deceased. The kingdom is currently under the leadership of a paramount chief, Jezebomvu. The drama explores the quest for power by the ruthless and cunning paramount chief. This power struggle leaves the family divided into two camps, one camp is led by the matriarch of the house and the other by Jezembovu. Stories of power struggles, fights for leadership, betrayal, loyalty and backstabbing make for compelling viewing.

As the topic of race continues to make headlines in South Africa, MTV South Africa got social media buzzing around the globe on Human Right’s Day (21 March) with its #LetsTalkColour campaign.
The TV and social media campaign achieved an estimated 22.7 Million impressions on Twitter as the channel and all its affiliated social media accounts made the symbolic gesture of turning black and white for 24 hours.

Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) Minister Nomvula Mokonyane kicked off National Water Week recently by stating: “As government we are very concerned about this situation and we are making a call to all South Africans to adapt their lives and face the reality that water is a scarce resource that has no substitute.” Today, as we recognise World Water Day to inspire action on water issues, we cannot forget the tremendous toll that our eating habits take on our water systems. This is particularly pertinent in South Africa, as we face our “worst drought in years.”
According to the Department of Water and Environmental Affairs, the demand for water is already outstripped in Gauteng since 2013, and will be in the whole of South Africa by 2025. 60% of water supply is used for agricultural use (including irrigation), 18% for environmental use, 11,5% for urban and domestic use, and 10,5% for mining and industrial use.
