5FM’s live music sessions 5Live hosted by Rob Forbes and Fix Moeti on the last Friday of every month has showcased some of the best local talent since its inception last year.

Previous award winning acts featured include HHP, AKA, Goldfish and Twin Atlantic and this week sees SA born and now US-based band Civil Twilight return to the Mother City for a live performance on the 5FM music feature. The four piece rock band is made up of South African brothers Andrew and Steven McKeller, Richard Wouters, and American Kevin Dailey – who joined the band after their move to Nashville.

Broadcasting from the Red Bull Studios in Cape Town between 15:00 and 16:00 on Thursday, 24 March (due to the public holiday), the band promises fans and 5FM listeners plenty passion and excitement with their homecoming. CARNIVAL CITY, SATURDAY MARCH 19: A radiant Ntandoyenkosi Kunene has been crowned Miss South Africa 2016 at a glittering ceremony held at Carnival City, presented by Sun International in collaboration with Cell C.

Runners-up are Elizabeth Molapo from the Freestate (1st Princess) and Tayla Skye Robinson from Gauteng (2nd Princess).

An excited and overwhelmed Kunene – a 23-year-old education honours student from Mpumalanga – said she was determined to make a difference during her reign.

In her Miss South Africa acceptance speech she said: “As a little girl growing up in the township – modelling around the house and practicing my speech in front of the mirror – I had always hoped, prayed and believed that one day my name would be called as the new Miss South Africa. Words cannot begin to describe the joy in my heart. South Africa’s six Vodacom Super Rugby franchises face an important weekend as they look to build momentum in the series with two local derbies and repeat of last year’s playoff match between the DHL Stormers and Brumbies playing out at home, while the Southern Kings begin their overseas tour.

The Vodacom Bulls and Cell C Sharks will kick off the weekend’s action on Friday evening with an exciting derby in Pretoria, and on Saturday the Southern Kings face the Crusaders in Christchurch, the Emirates Lions meet their former Vodacom Super Rugby franchise partners, the Toyota Cheetahs, in Johannesburg, and the DHL Stormers go up against the Brumbies in Cape Town.

The 61-year-old sold 17 of his classic cars, mostly Porsches, at the weekend, netting a stunning  $22,244,500, the New York Daily News reported on Monday.
