Comedy heavyweight, Nik Rabinowitz headlines at the Hanover Street Comedy Sundowners at GrandWest on Sunday, 5 June 2016. Comedy fans can look forward to an evening of side-splitting laughter as Rabinowitz puts his spin on South Africa’s often laughable political landscape and current affairs.

Rabinowitz who refers to himself as the “world’s leading Xhosa-speaking Jewish comedian” has been a staple on the local comedy scene for years. He performs to packed venues countrywide, has co-authored a book, The Youngsters, and performed as an opening act at the Toronto South African Film Festival in 2014.

He is also known for his radio show The Week that Wasn’t which aired on Talk Radio 702 and Cape Talk, and has successfully produced a string of one man shows. In 2010 he starred in Bafunny Bafunny, which toured South Africa as well as the United Kingdom where the show sold out the Royal Albert Hall.

Joining Rabinowitz at the Hanover Street Comedy Sundowners are Tracy Klass as host, Angel Campey, Liam Bento and Kenwyn Davids. The doors will open at 17h00 and the festivities will kick off at 18h00. The cost to enter is R55 per person, strictly for over 18s. Contact 082 588 6662 to book.
