Coke Studio is back! e.tv and Coca-Cola bring you the second season of the exciting music-based reality show, from Saturday 27 August, at 6:05PM. The new season promises to be jam-packed with 50 of the best localmusicians, and is hosted by Trevor ‘Trey’ Sineke and Nandi Ngoma.

Coke Studio allows viewers into the creative space of some of South Africa’s most popular artists as they collaborate to create hit songs, from scratch. Artists from different genres are paired up and given two days to create brand-new tracks, fusing different music styles. The tracks are then put together by award-winning South African music producers and recorded in front of a live studio audience.“Coke Studio is a unique and authentic platform for musicians and producers to get together and make original music. This approach results in production of both unexpected and exciting new music that may have never happened otherwise,” says Goodnoise Executive Producer Brian O’Shea. “What has really inspired us is the talent from artists who come together from different regions, genres and languages. The creative energy which came out during live recording sessions has been exhilarating. The music produced by these artists will leave you thunderstruck”.

Each episode will feature two fusion tracks with artists from different music genres and will focus on the interaction between them as they write, mix and record a song – before performing it together.

e.tv is pleased to partner with Coca-Cola again, on season 2 of Coke Studio. We strive to bring our audiences the best in local content and we know that they enjoy music shows. Coke Studio celebrates the creative sounds created by our top SA musicians,” says Marlon Davids, MD for e.tv Channels Division.

In the first episode, viewers can look forward to an interesting fusion of sounds fromRiky Rick and Scales, produced by Sketchy Bongo. Other acts to look forward to include: Jimmy Nevis, Morena Squire, Toya Delazy, Monark, Francois Van Coke, Fifi Cooper and many more. New artists are also given the opportunity to work with established names when Coke Studio introduces RAW talent.

Coke Studio will get your weekend started on the right note, when it kicks off on Saturday, 27 August at 6:05PM on e.tv and eHD on Openview HD (Channel 104) and DStv (Channel 194).
