Wayde van Niekerk wins gold at Olympics and shatters Michael Johnson’s World Record!

There is no amounts to measure the pride I am feeling right now. I could no longer wait for 3am to watch it and went to bed by midnight telling my friends I will wake up to the news. And what good news it was indeed! Local boy Wayde van Niekerk not only bagged gold at the Rio 2016 Olympics but smashed the world record in the process. And if you watch footage it looks like nearly 10 metres ahead of the silver medalist!

And let’s not forget the other day Luvo Manyonga achieved silver with a jump of 8.12m. Another young man with an amazing story!
