STATEMENT BY THE CITY’S ACTING EXECUTIVE MAYOR, ALDERMAN IAN NEILSON
On behalf of the City of Cape Town, I would like to wish the Muslim community of Cape Town Eid Mubarak as they celebrate Eid al-Adha tomorrow.
On this auspicious occasion, we are reminded that this is a time for thanks and sacrifice, and the blessings which the Almighty has bestowed on all of us, our families and our loved ones.
I would also like to extend a warm welcome to those who have returned to Cape Town from their pilgrimage. May your Hadj and Umrah and all your prayers be answered. Amen.
I hope that it was a time filled with deep spiritual reflection and renewal.
May you enjoy the day surrounded by those you love as you gather in a spirit of gratitude.
