OpenView HD celebrates its 3rd birthday in October with the launch of an exciting new channel – eMovies Extra.eMovies Extra is the second movie channel in the e.tv family – South Africa’s destination of choice for quality entertainment. The free-to-air OpenView HD platform recently surpassed half a million activated households, bringing viewership numbers to around 2 million people.
eMovies Extra will offer the same high calibre of movies viewers have come to expect from e.tv – giving viewers even more movies to choose from. Film fans can look forward to a bouquet of action, comedy, romance, sci-fi, horror, thrillers, crime and drama. In addition to the arrival of the new channel, fans can also look forward to the launch of TransAfrica Radio on the platform, bringing the total number or radio stations to nine.e.tv’s Managing Director Marlon Davids says that the addition of a new movie channel is the perfect birthday present for OVHD viewers. “We know that our viewers enjoy watching free movies in HD, so the addition ofeMovies Extra is the perfect gift to help add even more entertainment ahead of the festive season,” he says.
The channel will officially launch on 14 October at 12:00PM and offers 24hour family entertainment. “The mix of content, including educational, children’s and entertainment programming has huge appeal to our viewers,” says Platco Digital Managing Director, Patrick Conroy. “Current OpenView HD viewers are already enjoying the choices that the platform offers.”
