CAPE TOWN. – Cricket’s most explosive format and a big-hit extravaganza of note, the T20 Challenge, has announced an added initiative to lure thousands more spectators through the turnstiles. Every fan who completes a one-handed catch off a six will receive part of a million rand.

The Buildnat Cape Cobras’ first three clashes in November in the highly anticipated T20 Challenge will be hosted by Boland Park (against the Multiply Titans on Wednesday 16th November), against the Warriors (on Friday 18th November at PPC Newlands) and against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins at PPC Newlands (on Wednesday 23rd November). The matches on the 16th November and 23rd November will be shown on TV.

The Buildnat Cape Cobras boast the presence of several players who can clear the boundary ropes not by metres, but by acres. They include Kieron Pollard, Justin Ontong, Jason Smith and Rory Kleinveldt. But they are by no means the only devastating hitters.

Visiting craftsmen like Albie Morkel and David Wiese of the Multiply Titans and Kevin Pietersen of the Hollywoodbets Dolphins are others who can deposit deliveries for maximum.

These players have the qualities to thrill the crowd and bombard or clear the ropes.Smith has showed the past year of two that he can smash big sixes. Even at first-class level, he hammered them with ease, as was the case in his 88-ball century against the VKB Knights this season.

Keegan Petersen is fresh off an unbeaten 115 for Boland in coasting them to a win against Western Province and smashed 86 against the Dolphins in a Sunfoil Series match as well.

Ontong has improved his off-side play dramatically. Morkel needs no introduction, as both he and Wiese can bombard the straight boundaries. Pietersen is equally belligerent and was a key factor last season in powering the Dolphins to the finals of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.

There are a million good reasons why these seven impressive hitters of sixes could prove so invaluable to a woman or a man with excellent reflexes, superb hand speed and perfect 20/20-vision.

Lucky fans who successfully take a single-handed catch at a televised T20 Challenge match will be eligible to win a share of one million rand. Ts & Cs Apply.
