Temporary road closures will be in place in parts of Cape Town over the coming days to accommodate the Cape Town Marathon, which takes place onSunday 17 September 2017, and its setup.

Road signs advising of restrictions and closures will be in place for the days leading up to the race on Sunday.
Delays can be expected for the duration of the event and motorists and cyclists are advised to avoid using roads leading to or along the race routes where possible. Motorists and spectators are requested to comply with the instructions of traffic officers and race marshals and spectators should be wary of traffic and not stand in the roadway.
Members of the public are encouraged to use the MyCiTi shuttle service between the Civic Centre Station and Stadium Station on the day of the event. It will operate at a five-minute frequency between 04:45 and 06:30 and a 20-minute frequency between 08:30 and 14:00.
