Pro skater and first South African FISE Gold medalist, Jean-marc Johannes, has officially been invited back to defend his title at the final stop of the FISE World Series in Cheng Du, China, to take place from 3 – 5 November 2017.
A staple event in the action sports calendar for the last two decades, the Festival International des Sports Extrêmes (FISE) – which gathers over 500, 000 participants and broadcasted in 50 countries – will not only see Jean-marc competing for the coveted title, but also for the Best Trick cash prizes, including the three main tricks, rails, stairs and ramp.
“I’m so excited to be invited back to the FISE World Series after winning the 2016 am section for the first time as a South African skateboarder. I feel more comfortable and confident than I’ve ever felt on my board competing in the international circuit. I’ll always go for gold!”
Known for his bold attitude, always planning his next challenge, Jean-marc recently attempted and broke the Guinness World Record for most “Nollie Heelflips” in one minute, making him the first South African skateboarder to hold a GWR.
As a result of winning the 2016 FISE World Series Am, Jean-marc has been invited to take part in the sought after PROJAM International Open in Bali, following his contest in China, which is set for November 15th, 2017.
